Are you interested in supporting startups in Africa?

Apply to become a Gritcube Consultant and work 1-1 with an aspiring entrepreneur in Zambia!

Gritcube is a new accelerator for startups in Africa. We identify entrepreneurs with ideas for businesses that have the potential to expand, employ others, and even reach international markets. We then connect each entrepreneur with a consultant based in the U.S. who will provide professional support to the entrepreneur for 8 months.

As a consultant, you will help the entrepreneur complete a business plan, finance plan, and marketing/sales pitch. You will also help the entrepreneur seek fundraising opportunities, which could include setting up crowdfunding, seeking grants, or pitching to funders. All correspondences will be virtual (Skype, WhatsApp, email, etc.).

We are looking for smart, creative, passionate people. No business experience necessary, as long as you demonstrate an interest in helping local businesses in Africa. This is an excellent opportunity for people interested in eventually working in emerging markets and international development, and seek to have hands-on experience with building a new business from scratch.

We have selected from a large pool of applicants 6 Zambian entrepreneurs with exciting business ideas in the agricultural, manufacturing, and energy sectors. Read more about them here.

Check out gritcube.org/get-involved for more information. Duke graduate and professional students preferred. The role will last from October to the end of May. Approximate time commitment is 3-4 hours of work per week.

Fill out an application today! Due September 14th at midnight.
