Duke Law Start-up Ventures Clinic Provides Free Legal Advice to Startups

Published: 5 years ago | 0 comments

The Duke Law Start-Up Ventures Clinic now offers advising hours and workshops at the new I&E space, the Bullpen, in downtown Durham. Jeff Ward, Director of the Duke Law Start-Up Ventures Clinic, emphasizes that the clinic aims “to be a resource to the Duke, Durham, and Triangle communities more broadly by offering workshops on educational topics and by providing open office hours.”

The law clinic will be hosting open advising hours at the Bullpen on a monthly basis, and its next session will be November 17th between 3:00PM and 5:00PM. Entrepreneurs are invited to reserve a thirty-minute meeting ahead of time, or drop by without an appointment. While sessions are brief, these meetings are able to provide “limited-scope legal advice,” to early stage entrepreneurs. Office hours are perfect for entrepreneurs looking to better understand the common legal issues associated with starting a venture.
