SBA InnovateHER 2016 Business Challenge

Applications are now being accepted for the first round of the SBA InnovateHER 2016 Business Challenge. This is a national competition for new products and services that impact and empower the lives of women and families. Up to 10 Finalists will compete in Washington D.C. on March 16th and 17th for cash prizes. The local Durham selection process is hosted by Cognitect, with applications being accepted through October 30th. For rules and requirements, visit innovateher2016.

Design for America is a hiring a new Director to lead our national network!

We are looking for someone with superb communication, operational, management, and teamwork skills to take our network to the next level. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is passionate about leading an award winning national network of 9000+ members at 29 co-curricular university based studios across the country.

Design for America provides process, community, and mentoring to help students use design to make social and local impact. Past projects have included a robotic teddy bear to help diabetic children take better care of their bodies or providing point of care hand hygiene to increase hand hygiene by 64% in hospitals. Not only are the projects impactful, the projects are emerging leaders who are boundlessly inspiring, creative, and motivated.
