NextEd Labs at the Bullpen

At the Forefront of Education & Innovation

Located in the Bullpen at Duke’s Innovation & Entrepreneurship (I&E), NextEd Labs is a partnership between I&E, Duke Learning Innovation, and Embark. Membership confers access to Bullpen facilities, including the ability to book rooms for meetings and events.

NextEd Labs is a mutually beneficial model that serves the Triangle’s educational startup community—with tenant companies such as WarpWire and Rewriting the Code—as well as supporting students.

  • By joining NextEd Labs, educational entrepreneurs form a peer learning community, working in close proximity so they can share knowledge and resources.
  • Whereas most co-working spaces span industries, NextEd Labs companies are all focused on education, deepening the potential for mutual learning and collaboration.
  • Participating companies are also exposed to Duke’s needs, gaining a valuable case study in the many challenges facing educational institutions.
  • Duke Learning Innovation provides tenants with programming, connections, and problems to solve, furthering the companies’ development.
