Founder & CEO, Choulie
Alison Cayne is an entrepreneur, educator, writer, and advisor whose work has focused on consumer products, brand building, and the intersection of culture, commerce, and daily life.
In 2012, she founded Haven's Kitchen in New York City, growing it from a cooking school into a nationally distributed consumer packaged goods brand spanning education, media, retail, and grocery. Building the company gave her firsthand experience across product development, manufacturing, fundraising, retail expansion, and the realities of scaling a consumer business.
Alison is the host of In the Sauce, a long-running podcast featuring conversations with founders, operators, investors, and executives across the consumer economy. She teaches Food Entrepreneurship at Columbia Business School, guest lectures at NYU's Food Studies program, and advises emerging companies across food, hospitality, beauty, and consumer products.
She is the author of The Haven's Kitchen Cooking School (Artisan, 2017), and her writing on entrepreneurship, consumer behavior, food, and design has appeared in Forbes, Architectural Digest, Food52, and the New York Post.
Today, Alison is the founder and CEO of Choulie, a fragrance and body care company for women in midlife and beyond, built around her long-standing interest in sensory experience, ritual, and the role products play in everyday life.
