Blaine Crissman is the Founding Partner of the private equity firm, Badlands Capital. Badlands invests equity capital in change of control transactions in the Midwest representing family and founder ownership transition to institutional capital. Mr. Crissman’s responsibilities for the Badlands include deal origination, underwriting, closing, and managing investments. Portfolio company introductions are primarily sourced through relationships in the Midwest. Badlands is active in its portfolio companies and Mr. Crissman maintains executive involvement and board responsibility for many of the Badlands’ portfolio companies.
Prior to Badlands Capital, Mr. Crissman led an independent sponsor acquisition of a manufacturing company. Mr. Crissman served as the CEO of the company while recruiting additional management team members. The company was sold to a family office buyer in a successful exit.
Mr. Crissman has 30 years’ experience investing in middle market businesses nationally. Mr. Crissman invested subordinated debt and equity with Bank America Capital Investors in Chicago and was in high yield origination for BancAmerica Securities High Yield Group where he was involved in sourcing and underwriting public subordinated debt offerings.
Mr. Crissman received an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and a BA in Economics and Finance from Augustana University. Mr. Crissman serves on the Board of Trustees for Augustana University.
