Program Coordinator, Education
Matia Guardabascio is Program Coordinator for Education for the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Certificate at Duke. Prior to joining I&E, she worked as an academic administrator in the Program in Literature at Duke, as well as admin and events organizer for the English Department at Duke. Beyond her years of service at the university, Matia is a highly active artist in the Durham community (and beyond), collaborating widely to create programming and print publications. She is a writer, photographer, zine maker, journalist, mixed media artist, and events organizer. She runs the local zine Durham Beat, and an independent publisher called Secret Astronomer, both start-ups of her own making. Matia is from Massachusetts originally and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Creative Writing and French Literature from Rutgers University.
