Prospective Students

Whatever you’re passionate about, at Duke you’ll learn to discover ideas, develop solutions, and deliver them to the world.

When it comes to innovation and entrepreneurship, Duke is different—more collaborative, more grounded in practice, and more focused on changing the world for the better. Here, you’ll have opportunities to innovate no matter your background or course of study, benefiting from Duke’s premier resources across disciplines.

You’ll work on real-world problems alongside diverse teams of fellow students, faculty, researchers, and industry experts, turning ideas into action that can impact lives. Whether you want to found your own company, realize an invention that will change the world, or simply cultivate a more entrepreneurial mindset, Duke will support you at every step of your journey.

Wherever possible, we offer experience-based education—our students learn by doing in the Student Founders Program, the Undergraduate Certificate, Innovate Duke, and other programs. We work to provide experiences that are in service of ambitious, worthy goals and that offer opportunities for meaningful collaboration.

Our programs’ emphasis on interdisciplinarity means that our students learn from faculty in law, art, business, engineering, global health, music, computer science, medicine, and beyond. Our teachers are experts in their fields, like McKinney CEO Brad Brinegar. They’re premier researchers, like geneticist Priya Kishnani. And they are thought leaders, like public policy expert Aaron Chatterji, who previously served on the White House Council of Economic Advisors.

We hope you’ll explore the broad range of innovation- and entrepreneurship-related programs, resources, clubs, and more available to Duke students using the navigation below. If you’d like to discuss an idea, a program, the innovation landscape at Duke, or beyond, please make an appointment for a brief call or meeting with an advisor through our Innovation Navigators service.
