Sharlini SankaranAdjunct Associate Professor
Sharlini Sankaran, Ph.D., is Adjunct Associate Professor at Duke Innovation & Entrepreneurship and Managing Director at Duke’s Office of External Partnerships. Sharlini brings over 15 years’ experience as a leader and program director in tech-focused innovation and commercialization in North Carolina. She currently teaches experiential courses for graduate and professional students including New Ventures Clinic: Healthcare and Research Translation and Commercialization. She is a mentor, coach, and advisor to researchers and students with early-stage innovative and entrepreneurial ventures. In her External Partnerships role, she works to facilitate collaborations between Duke researchers and external partners and to strengthen Duke’s partnerships within NC’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Sharlini holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from UNC Chapel Hill, and the Masters and Bachelors Degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Ohio University.
