Duke Ventures

The Duke Ventures club aims to educate and train students on deal evaluation and due diligence of early-stage investments. The group will organize and host an annual training bootcamp and ongoing seminars throughout the school year, and implement the training by hosting live pitch sessions with local entrepreneurs through partnerships with Blackstone Entrepreneurs Network, CED, Triangle Startup Factory, Duke Startup Challenge, and American Underground. They will also offer due diligence experience to students in developing a due diligence packet and distributing it to our VC network composed of Duke alumni and investors from across the US.

The Law & Entrepreneurship Society brings together Duke Law students hoping to start and manage their own businesses upon graduation, those aiming to provide legal advice to entrepreneurs in their future careers, and those interested in the topic of emerging growth companies more generally. The group sponsors speaker events and networking opportunities throughout the school year, connects current students with Duke Law alumni working in various capacities in the start-up space, and this year is pioneering a Transactional Law Competition–a mock trial type competition for aspiring transactional lawyers—which is the first competition of its kind at Duke Law.
