StartupConnect Summer Entrepreneurs Network

SC_SummerNetwork_wm

StartupConnect Summer Entrepreneurs Network connects entrepreneurial Duke students and alumni in cities across the country for networking and educational events focused on entrepreneurship. This program was developed to enhance students’ summer internship experiences in cities that have a high concentration of Duke alumni entrepreneurs. We currently have active communities in the Bay Area, Durham, New York City, Miami, and Austin.

Each city has programming that is organized and run by Duke alumni volunteers. Students enjoy a welcome and closing dinner, weekly dinners with other students, workshops, speaking events, local Duke alumni events, social events such as trips to baseball games, and tours of local startups. This is an excellent opportunity for students to access a supportive network of Duke students and alumni, get to know the local entrepreneurial community, and learn more about entrepreneurship.

StartupConnect Summer Entrepreneurs Network 2015

How it works

  • Students first line up an internship and secure their summer plans. This is the responsibility of the student. StartupConnect Summer Entrepreneurs Network provides networking and social support (i.e. networking events, workshops, fun outings with other Duke students and alumni) for students who are interning in one of the five participating cities. This program does not provide internships, stipends, or housing.
  • Students can sign up at this link to be included in the group and mailing list for the city where they will intern.

I’m a Duke alum working at a startup in one of your participating cities and I’m interested in participating. How do I get involved?
