Managing Partner, Hughes & Company
Ken Manning is Managing Partner at Hughes & Company, where he focuses on deal origination, investment evaluation, and portfolio management. He has invested alongside the Hughes & Company team since 2016 and formally joined the firm in 2020. He serves on the Investment Committee, sits on several portfolio company boards, and advises leadership teams on strategic and operational initiatives.
Previously, Mr. Manning was Co-Founder and COO of Curaspan Health Group, a SaaS healthcare technology company, from 1999 until its acquisition by Cardinal Health and NaviHealth in 2016. Over the past 15 years, he has served as an investor, advisor, or board member for numerous healthcare technology companies, including Patientco (acquired by Waystar, 2021), Radix Health (acquired by Brighton Park and Relatient, 2021), Halo Communications (acquired by Symplr, 2021), First Dollar (acquired by Inspira, 2024), and Azara Healthcare (recapitalized by Insight Partners, 2024). He joined the board of Curvo Labs, a Hughes & Company portfolio company, in 2025.
Beyond Hughes & Company’s portfolio, Mr. Manning serves on the boards of Revology, a revenue cycle technology and services company; Canopy Systems, a SaaS remote monitoring and management company; and Reunitus, a family-owned business providing software and managed services to hospitality brands. He is also a member of the Limited Partner Advisory Committee for Vocap Partners, a venture capital firm based in Vero Beach, FL and Atlanta, GA.
Mr. Manning is actively engaged in the entrepreneurship through acquisition (ETA) community. He has invested in multiple ETA-led companies and enjoys working closely with their CEOs as they scale their businesses. He is passionate about supporting the next generation of searchers and is committed to helping Fuqua expand its leadership and visibility in the ETA space through his work with Duke Innovation & Entrepreneurhsip.
He earned his MBA from the Fuqua School of Business and holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Duke University. He lives in Atlanta, GA with his wife, Tina Bartlett Manning (Duke BA 1986).
