Investor & Franchise Owner, Filta Environmental Kitchen Solutions
Monte Marcum is the owner and operator of four Filta franchise territories in North Carolina, which he acquired in January 2023 from two long-standing owners. Filta provides specialized fryer management, cooking oil microfiltration, and deep cleaning services for commercial kitchens. In his first two years, Monte doubled revenue and built the largest Filta franchise operation in NC.
Before becoming a franchise owner, Monte was a Managing Director and Partner at Trascent, a boutique management consulting firm focused on facilities management outsourcing for global enterprises. He previously worked at IBM during his MBA studies at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from Virginia Tech.
Monte lives in Hillsborough, NC with his wife, children, and cats. When not working, he’s working on his golf game — and balancing work with life, not just the other way around. It’s still a work in progress.
